How To Apply

IMPORTANT: Before starting, insure that the wound and surrounding area (at least 2cm on each side of the placement) are COMPLETELY dry and free of all hair.

STEP 1:

REMOVE microMend from foam container by pulling TAB upwards using thumb & forefinger.

STEP 2:

Holding the TAB, POSITION microMend so the edge of narrow section that meets TAB-SIDE is over wound as shown below. This positioning will locate center of narrow section over wound after device is pulled across wound (see STEP 4).

STEP 3:

With free hand, PRESS microstaple area of NON-TAB SIDE of device firmly onto skin.

STEP 4:

Hold TAB-SIDE and PULL microMend across wound to approximate and evert wound edges as shown below.

STEP 5:

PRESS down on microstaple area of TAB-SIDE to keep device in place and twist TAB off. Pulling (instead of twisting) the TAB may cause microMend to be dislodged from the skin.

STEP 6:

To Finish, PRESS firmly over both sides of device to ensure that microMend is secured to the skin.

STEP 7:

Make sure that the microMend devices cover the entire wound; to do so, place devices such that they extend beyond the edge of each side of the wound.

STEP 8:

After closure, the site should be covered with a sterile absorbent dressing for 24 - 72 hours.
