Product Details

microMend is a new alternative to sutures and staples for closing skin wounds as well as protecting the wound site afterwards.

The product is similar in size and shape to a butterfly bandage, with tiny "microstaples" that anchor the device to the skin.

microMend provides safe, secure and very rapid skin closure for a wide variety of incisions and lacerations.

Dermatologic office-based procedures, such as excisions, skin biopsies, and Mohs surgery, are key initial applications of microMend.

The device is also appropriate in many additional clinical settings where several studies have been performed and additional studies are underway. Examples are: general, gynecologic, and urologic surgeries (closing port sites after minimally invasive surgery – e.g. laparoscopic and robotic surgeries) and several types of vascular surgeries (e.g. phlebectomies and radiofrequency ablation).

A single microMend device is in the shape of a standard butterfly bandage with similar dimensions – 43mm in length, 6mm wide in the narrow middle, and 12mm wide at each end.
